Knowledge and education are the source of power of social development in the society with knowledge and economy, and higher education is also being used by the edge of the stage to the social and economic center. After20years of development, regional development of Higher Education has already been recognized by all levels of government and society. Adjust the layout and structure of the area of higher education should combined with regional sociol-economic development and the its character and the effects of different factors, for higher education to play this social system functions reasonably, higher spatial layout plays a significant role in promoting. There are some problems with Guanzhong-Tianshui Economic Zone in the current economy, such as inadequate level of human resource development and basic public services, non-public economic development level is relatively backward, such problems causing many difficult to achieve wide range of industrial agglomeration and increase productivity of economic zone enterprises, while the economy less competitive markets businesses. To break through this dilemma, it needs a "booster" like the higher education, because the development of a region, its economic competitiveness is closely related to science and technology, and human resources is the key to the economic and technological competitiveness.First, we start with the explore to the theory of how to makes the Higher Education and Regional Economic adaptability development, theoretical combination with empirical, qualitative combination with quantitative, in order to analysis and argumentation the adaptability relationship between higher education and economic development in the regions, and analyzes the current situation of higher education and regional economic development.Second, studies suggest that the higher education and regional economic development in Guanzhong-Tianshui Economic Zone are incompatible mainly in:Higher scale ahead of the level of economic development, disciplines failed to adapt to industrial structure of the economic structure; hierarchy of higher education and economic are incompatible; layout structure of higher education and economic are incompatible.Third, based on the factors affecting the Higher Education and Regional Economic Development adaptability in economic zone, research conducted in-depth discussions and summarized there are mainly four factors:economic factors, policy factors, historical factors and demographic factors.Finally, according to the studies above summed some suggestions and reflections to promote Higher Education and Regional Economic Development adaptability, just as:use the scientific development concept to guide the adaptability development of higher education and regional economic; rapidly setting those in much-needed disciplines to adapt economic development; reform postgraduate-level education system; increase training in higher vocational education specialist; colleges layout should according to the characteristics of each area in the economic region.The study sought to clarify in the future the higher education and regional economic development in Guanzhong-Tianshui Economic Zone how to better adapt to each other that both have good results. Hope my research can help policy-makers in builds higher education and regional economic development, and provide little experience as theoretical basis.
