With the intensification of social transformation and the change of government functions in China, NGOs have played an increasingly irreplaceable role as independent third department. In recent years, the academic study of the NGO is very popular and most of the researcher studied it from a macro perspective. The contents of the study include the discrimination of NGO concept; the reasons why can rise; the opportunities and difficulties of NGO development; the developmental trend of Chinese NGO and the confrontation between NGO and foreign NGO from all aspects. What we called grassroots NGOs are those non-governmental organizations which rooted in the community. In the early stages of Chinese NGO’s development, it has a great significance for the growth of non-governmental organizations and the promotion of civic education. On the basis of previous studies, the author is going to discuss the active grassroots NGOs in the perspective of social support. The author started the research by way of investigating a typical grassroots NGO. In order to obtain first-hand empirical data, we need to find out its survival situation, difficulties of development and present situation of social resources. Then, we can analysis its social support. Finally we want to explore ways to build grassroots NGO social support networks based on its social support and to provide a reference for the development of other grassroots NGOs. It will contribute to the promotion of healthy development of grassroots NGOs. The innovation of this study lies in the interaction between grassroots NGO and university associations. I think this is a good attempt and it is worth to spread.
