Ever since education has become computerized, every country in the world is on theirway to exploring education revolution. Technology changed the way we live as well as theway we study. Electronic textbook is the demand of altering traditional class and exploringnew methods of teaching. Take China for example, we are conducting e-textbooks on a rathersmall scale, mainly in primary and secondary schools in major cities. This kind of educationresearch is not adequate for our country. The majority of students in China are still in secondor third-class cities. How to fulfill the needs of the majority is what we should focus on. Thisessay takes Downloading Files from The Basics of Information Technology published byScience of Education Press for high school as an example to illustrate the process ofdeveloping e-textbooks. The main purpose of this essay is to provide teachers with theinformation of developing e-textbooks independently and improve the standard of teaching.There are six parts in this essay. Part one, research outline. Mainly described the content,the purpose and the significance of the research as well as the methods and the status indomestic and foreign countries. Part two, the foundation of the theory. primarily introducedthe methods of designing and developing e-textbooks, the theory of teaching plans and Firstprinciples of Instruction. First principles of Instruction, the theory of what characteristicsshould teaching product possess, was brought by professor Merrill. For implementing Firstprinciples of Instruction, professor Merrill then came up with the pebble-in-the-pondapproach to instructional development, it is a task and content oriented teaching application.Textbook development should be based on pedagogy, here the author chose First principles ofInstruction and the pebble-in-the-pond approach to instructional development to instructe-textbook development. Part three, the summary of e-textbooks. This chapter is dedicated tothe related definition of textbooks. Part four, the principles for designing e-textbooks.Introducing the problems that designing excellent e-textbooks should be aware of andinstructing the actual designing. Part five, the development of information technologye-textbooks in high school in Hebei province. This chapter is the core of the dissertation, specifically introduced the steps of e-textbooks from designing to developing, including thepreparation, researching, testing and evaluating. Part six, drawing conclusion. Summarizingthe analyzing the drawbacks.This research is set up in Hebei province research,, mainly focus on the development ofe-textbooks, from designing to testing. In order to make the results more to the point andapplicable, the methods, steps and software were used in the research were under theconsideration of the level of the schools’ information technology. It is beneficial to improvethe level of schools’ information technology.
