From the aspects of course target, course content,"Basic education curriculum reform program (Trait) proposes the starting point and finial destination of the reformation. It is said as "for the development of each student, for the rejuvenation of Chinese nation." The basic value orientation of the new curriculum in China marks the development needs of the times, directs to cultivate students’healthy personality and integrity, and means to build the basic education curriculum system in accordance with the requirements of quality education. The new English curriculum objectives under the guidance also embody the following characteristics:The first one is concern of the comprehensive ability of students. It emphasizes the curriculum combined with students’life experience, and focus on stimulating students’interest in learning. The second one is student-centered. It emphasizes the humanity of English teaching, and pays attention to cultivate students’creativity. The third one is the openness of course system. It proposes to establish English Grading target. The forth one is textbook should be compiled reasonable. It proposes design concept with the theme of line. The fifth one is it supposes innovative teaching method and learning style. From the above five characteristics of the new curriculum in English, it is not difficult for us to find out that English education should grasp the subject position of students and develop students’ creativity and initiative. Among the requirements of the new curriculum targets, they have specially mentioned to pay attention to the reasonable compile of textbook. As we all know that although textbook is not the only one reading book for students, it plays an important role in education activities which cannot be ignored. Therefore, it is beneficial to promote English study if we have a good job in evaluating English textbook. We need to be aware of that students are the value subject in using textbook, and they enjoy the right to take part in evaluating textbook.This research is investigated through the method of literature analysis, logical analysis and surveying research and tries to construct an evaluation system which is taking the students as the center. And the finally object is to form a suitable evaluation system for students to evaluate textbook, and to analysis its effectiveness. Based on the above, these articles mainly focus on the four issues:(1) why to build it?(2) What to build?(3)How to build it?(4) The effectiveness of it.Firstly, it is going to analysis the necessity of constructing the evaluation system which is taking students as the center on the basis of understanding the situation they are in English learning. It mainly discusses the necessity of evaluating materials and the possibility of being evaluated by students. As well as the analysis of the cognitive theory of Second Language Acquisition, English textbooks need to be adjusted for a corresponding of the feedback obtained by the students and it give an answer to the question why to build an evaluation system that taking students as the centre.Secondly, in addressing the question "why to build the system", according to our previous studies on materials, we should clarify the evaluation content of English textbooks which can be evaluated by students. It including four aspects:physical factors, aesthetic elements, the elements of knowledge and logic elements. Through these four aspects of interpretation and analysis one by one, the research obtained the direction of evaluating content by students and answered the question "What to build."Thirdly, through the deconstruction and analysis of the evaluation content, the study will refine the contents of evaluation and explore the path that taking students as the centre to evaluate high school English materials. In this part, it answered the question "How to build the system.’Finally, a practical case given to examine the evaluation form and it analyze the validity of materials evaluating by students. Besides, it made a number of support materials to protect the students’right to evaluate materials and also supposed some comments and suggestions. Including teachers should establish a scientific concept of teaching material view and students view; social environment should pay attention to several aspects of compilation of teaching materials and the establishment of the evaluation mechanism of teaching materials.
