Study On The Sustainable Development Of Private Undergraduate Universities

As a higher level of private colleges, private undergraduate universities reduce the financial burden of the state’s inputs to higher education, promote system reformation of higher education, optimize the structure of higher education, to meet the growing demand of the people for undergraduate higher education, enhance the quality of the citizens and make great contributions to so many aspects. With the continual development of the socio-economic requirements, education is expected to continue to improve; moreover, the development of higher education provides the educational needs with more choices, and the competition of the enrollment is becoming increasingly fierce among universities. How the private undergraduate colleges expand the enrollment, and continue to play a role in gaining a position in the field of higher education, has become a serious challenge that private undergraduate colleges must be faced with in sustainable development. Especially from2008, the number of the high school students dramatically has reduced. Private undergraduate colleges whose source of the students is based on the inferior end of the students, who take part in the college entrance examination, increasingly feel the crisis in development. How to promote the sustainable development of private undergraduate colleges and universities has become a strategic issue in the management and research of the private undergraduate college education.Based on the theory of sustainable development, structure and function theory and comprehensive quality management theory, as well as private universities’ development, value and significance, this paper summed up successful experience in the development and the problems; furthermore, based on the theory of structure and function, function stratification research on the structure of education is conducted and private undergraduate universities targeting training objectives are studied, some theoretical discussions about sustainable development being conducted. The study sets Sanjiang University as the research object in the study, and refers to the independent college for the comparative study, and the SWOT analysis model is applied; besides, quadrant is applied to position the strengths, the weaknesses, the opportunities and the threats, and some further research and analysis is conducted on the internal and external factors that affect private undergraduate universities sustainable development, and draw conclusions of SWOT analysis. In addition, try to raise private undergraduate universities to promote the sustained and healthy development of the path selection and development of strategic measures selected, so as to private undergraduate college survival and development to provide a reference for the government to improve management, and promote the healthy development of private undergraduate universities to provide a theoretical and practical basis.
