Due to several causes, a part of junior high school students sink in students with learning difficulties. Junior high school students are in a key period, which is from childhood to puberty. These students, especially students with learning difficulties, need the consideration more eagerly from school, family and society. The problem of students with learning difficulties has caused more and more attention of teachers and scholars. But many work about transformation are just linger on the theory without practice.Combining the theory and practice in transforming students with learning difficulties not only guide principles for education, but also necessary for students in physical and mental. For schools, transformation of students with learning difficulties can make up the shortcomings of class teaching system. In order to helping them shake off the long-terming problems, the writer analyses the causes of students with learning difficulties through questionnaire and interview, and put the action research into practice from nonintellectual factors and put the action research into practice from nonintellectual factors and learning strategiesThis thesis is composed of four parts. In Chapter One, the writer formulate the study topic, study aim, study meaning and studymethods, which based on The New English Curriculum Standard inHigh School and situation of students with learning difficulties. Inaddition, the definition of students with difficulties, nonintellectualfactors and learning strategies are presented. What’s more, thecauses and the transformation of students with learning difficultiesare also presented. Chapter Two is the selection of the object of study.The writer explore the shortcoming in nonintellectual factors andlearning strategies of the whole students with learning difficulties ina class by means of questionnaire and interview, and name two ofthem as Student Jia and Student Yi. In Chapter Three, the writerdescribes the practice of the plan of the action research. The writerpractices the4rounds of action researches based on the plan. Eachround of action research goes on strictly for about one month. Thecontent of every action research are vocabulary training, readingcomprehensive training, grammar training, composition training. InChapter Four, the writer gets the conclusion and consideration of the4rounds of the action researches.This thesis has the following research findings. First, the studentswith learning difficulties have the possibility to be transformed.Second, the transformation is a long-term work. Third, the positivenonintellectual factors are important for study. Fourth, the goodlearning strategies play the important role in study. Finally, the actionresearch has the great contribution to the teaching quality.
