The visual impairment of visually impaired students decides the particularity of their math study, for example, the lack of visual imagery, which makes it difficult to form a complete concept; the lack of perceptual knowledge, which affects the development of their comprehension; and it’s hard for them to form the concept of direction and space, etc. Therefore, the current math teaching in schools for the blind aims at meeting students’needs for math in daily life, promoting the development of their intelligence, improving their reasoning ability and abstract ability, as well as compensating their visual impairment and exploiting their potential. With the development of society, more and more visually impaired students choose to further their study in university. As a result, they are facing the pressure of University Entrance Examination, which makes higher demands on the level and quality of math teaching in school for the blind.Driven by the wave of teaching reform, Wuhan school for the blind takes the lead in reforming teaching among schools for the blind. The school is exploring "high-effective class"which meets the learning characteristics of visually impaired students. The purpose of this study is to find a teaching method which can effectively improve visually impaired students’ learning efficiency and effectiveness under the framework of "high-effective class". And here the author refers to it as Circular guiding method.Having done a detailed literature review, the author finds that there are few studies on math teaching methods in schools for the blind. The author collects the teachers’ and students’thoughts on "high-effective class"by asking them to do a questionnaire. And the author specifically analyzes the teaching modes and methods, as well as does case study and action study, which studies the birth, the connotation, the supporting theory and the application principle of "circular guiding method". Besides, the author presents a classroom teaching record to show the application of "circular guiding method"in senior high class’math teaching.
