As one of the children’s favorite literary form, the story is ubiquitous in the children’s life. Excellent story will bring aesthetics of literature to children and promote the development of children’s cognitive, language, thinking and intelligence, but unreasonable story could affect children’s learning and development. Preschool teachers have a lot of problems when choosing story works in the current kindergarten activities. For instance, they tend to prefer these literary works which with cognitive function and moral scold, they ignore children’s experience and interests when select the contents. Then, what about the current status of the preschool teachers’story choosing in Changsha?The research adopted questionnaire survey and text analysis to analyze the story which Changsha preschool teachers choose, then using the questionnaire survey and interview to analyze the process of preschool teachers’ story choosing in Changsha. On the basis of the analysis are summarized the problem of the preschool teachers’ choosing in Changsha and put forward the strategies, all these can provide some references to preschool teachers and are also expected to provide some theoretical basis for preschool education researchers.The research indicate that, Changsha preschool teachers in story choosing have the problems of ignore the "literariness" of story, the source of the story is tend to textbooks and lack of own story, the image of "characters" is simplification, the story of male is dominated, have a stress on completed story but look down on young children’s performance. Under the previous analysis put forward to return to the "literariness" of the story, story source diversification, a wide range of materials, equilibrium characters of gender and realize the dynamic selection strategies.
