With increasing influence of UEFA Champions League in world football, strategy is becoming more and more important. There is a rising expectation in players’ability of attack-and-defense, speed of running and spirit of teamwork. While strengthening players’physical condition, foot ball players pay more and more attention to tactics. Among all the tactics, scoring goals is of great importance; hence, there is a heated discussion about how to raise rate of scoring goals.The UEFA Champions League represents the highest level in European football which is top the best all around the world, its influence surpasses the world cup which is hold every four years.The teams of championship in UEFA Champions League from2008-2013has demonstrated their strong ability in attacking and defense. Are their championships accident or certainty? Are there any characters in common among the teams? Is there any attacking strategy applied by these teams worth our exploration and promotion? Based on these questions, this paper explores the attacking characters of champion teams in UEFA Champions League, intends to reveal some regularity in their attacking and tactics of scoring, and aims to improve the level of Chinese football through applying these tactics.By employing diverse research methodologies, such as document research, observation, data analysis, this study exams135scoring goals among65matches in UEFA Champions League from2008to2013and comes to the following conclusions:(1) The champion teams in the UEFA Champions League from2008to2013have scored135goals in total,2.08goals in average in each match. The average shooting times in each match is13.86and the successful shooting accounts for46.73%, the rate of scoring goals per match is15.01%.(2) Among the champion teams in the UEFA Champions League form2008to2013, the goals in the second half is higher than the first half, respectively71goals and61goals. The majority goals are scored15minutes before the end of the second half (26goals), which account for19.26of the goals in total; while the least goals are scored in the very first15minutes of the first half, around12.59%of the total goals.(3) Most goals (17) are scored in the4th sector around the penalty spot, accounting for12.59%of the total; while the least scoring areas are7th sector,8th sector and13th as well as14th sector.(4) The major scoring goals methods of champion teams in the UEFA Champions League from2008to2013are attacks on wings and in the middle. More specifically, attack in the middle scores52goals (38.52%of total) while attack on wings scores48(35.56%).Quick counter punch accounts score16goals (11.85%), place kick scores22goals (16.30%).(5) Shoot at the first crash with feet is the major goal-scoring approach, which is followed by heading scoring goals and dribbling shooting. Within the5years of UEFA Champions Colleague, there are75shooting at the first crash (55.56%, heading scoring goals17(12.59%) and dribbling shooting16(11.85%).(6) There are57player score130goals, among which29fore court player score the most goals (83).(7)The five-year UEFA Champion League shows diverse formation, each team has their own formation based on their unique attack-defense strategies.(8)There are29134times of passing during the five Championships, and448.22times of passing in average in each match, among which66.71%is considered as successful passing.(9)A11those champion teams show more than50%ball possession, which is a vital factor for their championship.(10)There are in total of109assists, which accounts for80.74%of total scoring; the average amount of assists per match is1.68.
