The National College Students’ Traditional Sports Sustainable Development Research

National University Students Traditional Sports Meeting held on the basis ofthe two former National Red Sports Meetings is a new kind sports meeting whose mainparticipators are university students from all over the country and whose forms ofpresentation are the practical sports activities led by the Communist Party of China inthe1930-40s’. Red sports meeting is a new research topic in recent years which isstarted late and there are few empirical researches in China. Most of the researches ofscholars of China are concentrated on the function value of Red Culture but few ofthem study the practice and the implementing way of Red Culture. In order to carryforward the Red Culture in university sports meeting this research has gained thefollowing results through the research and study about the First National UniversityStudents Traditional Sports Meeting.1.89.1%of the respondents think that the game contents of University StudentsTraditional Sports Meeting have special features and the meeting also has deep culturalconnotations. The item setting is new and flexible with characteristics of fitness andentertainment.2. University Students Traditional Sports Meeting is completely different from thegeneral university students sports meeting from the aspects of items setting and theorganizational form of the opening ceremony. The sports items of male and female arevery alike in general university students sports meeting, but the male and female sportsitems are much different in University Students Traditional Sports Meeting and all theitems are filled with Red Culture with new characteristics and high security.3.87%of the respondents are satisfied with the University Students TraditionalSports Meeting and only1.1%of the respondents are not satisfied with the sportsmeeting. No respondents are not satisfied with the meeting very much.4. Most of the channels which the respondents get to know University StudentsTraditional Sports Meeting are Internet, radio or TV. The next are out-dooradvertisements, newspapers and magazines, etc.5.87%of the respondents think that University Students Traditional SportsMeeting has strong instructive and social value. The instructive value lies in the aspectsof the development of Red Sports Culture and the education of revolutionary tradition,patriotic education and national spirit. The social value lies in the promotion ofextensive exercise campaign for the general public.6. All the respondents think that the support from government is the necessarycondition for the sustainable development of University Students Traditional SportsMeeting; Secondly, leaders’ attention, social concern and publicity are all the importantconditions for the sustainable development of the meeting.7. Through this research we found that the propaganda work was not done fullybefore the sports meeting and we also found the competition and enjoyment of the sports items are not very strong. The clean and maintenance of the playground alsobecame a problem after the sports meeting.Finally put forward the following Suggestions: adhere to the government,department coordination, the social from all walks of life support, the principle ofuniversal participation;Make full use of various channels, increase the propaganda;Tostrengthen the unity of the referees, coaches, training, and for different professionalathletes packet classification, enhance the look of a sports meeting.Simplify the processof opening and closing ceremonies, reflect the revolutionary tradition educationmeaning;Set up some competitive and view and admire a gender strong project, in orderto attract the audience’s interest;Break who sponsored sports habits, listen to theopinions, reserve the characteristic projects, the host of general project specifications.
