The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of National Identity Of College Students In Xinjiang Area

National identity is an important national consciousness, including people’s recognition,approval,ownership and consciousness to the state. It is necessary for ideological and political education to train and improve college students’national identity. Since college students’national identity in Xinjiang area is facing special environment, it is worthy of attention and study on it.Based on the social investigation, this thesis tends to discuss the college students’ situation and countermeasures of national identity in Xinjiang area. Besides the introduction, this thesis is divided into three parts:On the basis of the definition of national identity, the first part tries to stress on the importance on enhancing Xinjiang’s national identity:it helps to promote the comprehensive development of college students in Xinjiang area,to promote the construction of harmonious campuses in Xinjiang colleges,and to consolidate Xinjiang college students’patriotic emotion and consciousness of citizens.In the second part, it tries to analysize the current situation of Xinjiang college students’national identity,and analyze the main current problems: college students have certain sense of national identity, but their citizen consciousness is weak, their national emotion is narrow, and their political participation enthusiasm is not high, even some students’patriotic behavior is irrational. The main causes of these problems are as follows: the first is the impact of globalization, the second is Western hostile forces which try to westernize and differentiate China,the third is negative factors during the period of social transformation,the fourth is the impact of the Xinjiang area’s special situation,the last one is Xinjiang area’s inefficiency of national identity education.In the third part, some suggestions are put forward to enhance Xinjiang college students’ national identity strengthen the education of "pluralism" national culture so as to construct a firm foundation for Xinjiang College students’national identity; strengthen ideological and political education so as to lay a solid ideological foundation for Xinjiang College students’national identity;broaden the channels of national identity education so as to promote Xijiang college students’emotion and behavior experience of national identity;and integrate all social forces so as to form a comprehensive force for Xinjiang college students’national identity education.
