Due to the special geographical location and ethnic, religious pattern, national identity education for minority college students in Xinjiang plays an important role in maintaining national unity and stability, so it has always been highly concerned by the local government and universities in Xinjiang. Since the establishment of the first universy in 1935, whether in the period of the Republic of China or the New China, Xinjiang government, especially the Chinese Communist Party has attached great importance to national identity education for minority college students. They have accumulated a lot of valuable experience for combining national identity education for minority college students with the separation of religion and education, land reform, as well as resistance to the "Three Forces". However, globalization, marketization and technology, as well as the wave of the third nationalism pose a variety of challenges to the national identity education for Minority college Students."universal value" in the west, islamic fundamentalism, market economy,network information and the "Three Forces" impact seriously on national identity education for minority college students,which makes some minority college Students dilute their national identity in the pursuit of ethnic and religious identity..Correspondingly, although the overall national identity education in Xinjiang is successful, there are still some probems such as the lag of educational concept, boring content, rigid method and so on.The class attribute of State determines that the national identity education is a part of ideological and political education.whether in the aspect of the concept, content or mechanism, the national identity education, which has a particular value orientation and Ideological nature,is a practical activity and means to safeguard State legitimacy and special interests and relationships.Therefor, national identity education for minority college students in Xinjiang aimed at strengthening the minority college students'identity on the class interests of our country,as well as orders and values that maintain these interests.In real life, people often easy to overlook or can not accurately recognize the special nature of national identity education for minority college students in Xinjiang, which affects its pertinence and effectiveness. In fact, compared with the common factors such as the changes of domestic and international situation and transformation of collge students'personal values, ethnic and religious identity and the "Three Forces" have more prominent affect on national identity education for minority college students in Xinjiang. So, different from the Mainland, core issue that the national identity education for minority college students in Xinjiang must be solved is the impact and digestion of religious identity and the "Three Forces" on national identity. The key to solve this problem is understanding and handling the relationships between Ethnic Culture and Chinese Culture, traditional ethnic culture and modern national culture, personal value and social value,the utilization and the guide of traditional culture largely becomes the focus in the development of minority college students' national identity education.Needless to say, as an advanced culture, Marxism has great vitality but its atheistic education is difficult to meet the Traditional Cultural Psychology of Minority College Students in xinjiang in short time, so eliminating the influence of religion on the minority college students still need a long-term process. How to deal with the contraadiction between Marxism and religion is the difficulty in the national identity education for minority college students. Meanwhile, different from college students in mainland, influenced by collectivism that associates with ethinc and religion,which is essentially different from the current China leading collectivism.minority college students in Xinjiang often lack the necessary self-worth demands. Therefore, from the perspective of the value needed, the focus that the current National Identity Education for minority college students in Xinjiang is nurturing rather than meeting the individual value, in other words, national identity education should first nurture individual value meeting the needs of national development, then use this healthy and reasonable individual value to dilute the negative effects that religion and ethnic identity impact on national identity.The development of national identity education for minority college Students is not simply a transformation from tradition to modern, but complex system engineering. Therefore, from the perspective of development, the national identity education for Minority college Student should highlight the Chinese characteristics, establish a people-oriented and system concept and leading by the socialist core values and modern culture, nurture and wake healthy and reasonable modern personality of minority college students, adjust content, use various means and improve related educational mechanism.
