In recent China, due to the influence of foreign Vocational Guidance Movement, as well as the domestic special environment such as society, politics, economy and culture, in order to solve employment problems of thousands and thousands of general secondary school graduates, deepen the relationship between education and vocation of secondary school, large number of progressive intellectuals and patriotic educators, under the guidance of "vocational education saving the nation", spared no effort to introduce the experience and generalization of vocational guidance in foreign general secondary school, actively organized and conducted the domestic vocational guidance in general secondary school, generally carried out the theoretical study of vocational guidance. They made a positive contribution to effectively solve the problem of graduates’college and employment. The research on the thoughts of vocational guidance for general secondary school during the Republic of China not only deepens the research of general secondary school education and vocational education and enriches the educational history during the republic of China but also provides some historical lessons to the current education reform of middle school.The study is composed of five parts including introduction and body.The introduction mainly expounds the reason and the theoretical and practical significance of vocational guidance for general secondary school during the Republic of China, presents and reviews the current researchers’ research results relevant to the subject matter, it’s still necessary to further strengthen the research of vocational guidance for general secondary school during the Republic of China, and puts forward the research ideas and methods.The text is divided into four parts. The first part discusses the historical context of vocational guidance for general secondary school during the Republic of China. The rise and development of vocational guidance for general secondary school during the Republic of China is influenced by the thought and practice of vocational guidance in recent European and American, also the social and economic change during the Republic of China, as well as the trend of vocational education and the educational system of Ren Xu.The second part expounds the activity of vocational guidance specialists for general secondary school during the Republic of China. It mainly introduces the educators and vocational guidance expert’s life of Liao Shicheng, Liu Zhanen and their theoretical exploration and practice of vocational guidance for general secondary school.The third part analyzes the main content of vocational guidance for general secondary school during the Republic of China. The domestic experts to vocational guidance of general secondary school during the Republic of China have following conclusions:One is about the connotation and importance of vocational guidance for general secondary school; The second is about the purpose、the function and the task of vocational guidance for the general secondary school; The third is about the general principles and methods of vocational guidance for general secondary school.The fourth part discusses the historic enlightenment of vocational guidance for the general secondary school during the Republic of China. General secondary school should pay more attention to vocational guidance, establish the scientific concept of vocational guidance; construct a multivariate network system which includes teachers, society, family and others.
