Football, is called the biggest sport in the world, popularizing everywhere in our lands. Football came to China in the beginning of last century. After the New China (people’s republic of China) was established, the development of football was very fast by China Communism Party and government’s support, the scale and level got quite a big development, with the short term reached a high level. In the late sixty’s, as the Cultural Revolution and other historical reasons, China’s football slept a long time. Until it came the time of the Reform and Open, the development of football can be a slow recovery. After eighty’s, ninety’s and the first ten years of the new century, Chinese football’s media image has been in the process of changing. Chinese football affects their fans in stadium and out of stadium. And this paper applies the method of event sampling, trying to reflect the thirty-five years of reform and open (1978-2013) changing Chinese football appearance in the media workers, the transition of China football’s media image in thirty-five years.The paper used big-event method, collected Chinese football’s media image in thirty five years. And it made three ages:1978-1989,1990-1999,2000-2013, then made its characters: patriotism sports (1980s), nature sports (1990s) and entertainment sports。 Chinese football influences its image by the performance. At last, the paper ended with a conclusion:football should find its pattern, the nature. So the media image will be more objective.
