| Li Feilan and Dong Gangrui’s Children’s Piano Course was welcomed by the majority of piano teachers and students and their parents since it was published in1983. It can be said to be the first native music language teaching material with the most national characteristics of China in the20th century. Professor Li absorbed foreign advanced experience, combined with the characteristics of children’s psychological and age in our country, and then compiled this piano course which has the most Chinese national characteristics, obeys the law of science and can be easily accepted by children. However, this teaching material does not exert its potential value and get the attention that it deserves. There is a variety of reasons. Among them the main reason is that this set of textbook has a long history and many teachers are unfamiliar with it even some young teachers have never heard about the existence of this book. For another reason, because of the custom of teachers’teaching and the influence of teaching surroundings, most piano teachers still continue to use traditional foreign children piano teaching materials. Teachers are lack of sufficient knowledge and understanding of this book, and thus inevitably hinder the promotion of Children’s Piano Course in our country.This report will regard Children’s Piano Course as the research object, make deep analysis of the content and teaching characteristics, excavate a striking feature of this course, and sum up some teaching methods and teaching thoughts combined with young children’s age and psychological characteristics which are suitable for this course to do some efforts to contribute to the promotion of children’s piano teaching.This report is divided into five parts:·ntroduction:the reason to select this topic; the purpose of the research study as well as the status quo of children’s piano teaching material use·ody part:(1) This report will mainly introduce the art career of Professor Li, her achievements in the piano teaching and a series of piano works and courses that she had written, and introduce in detail about the background of this epoch-making excellent children’s piano teaching book, writing ideas and the main features of this book.(2) Making thorough analysis of Children’s Piano Course is also an important part of this report. Starting from the overall technology layout of this book, make in-depth study respectively from the auxiliary introduction stage, the way to get started, skill structure arrangement, basic music knowledge learning, hearing and sight reading ability, music forms and music genre to be further familiar with this course.(3) Sum up five outstanding characteristics of this course through text analysis and the feelings for this course after the author’s use. An excellent children’s piano teaching book pays much attention to technical practice and at the same time values music form and content performance. Good piano music should both have technology and abundant music performances to get a certain interest of boring technology practice, pay attention to children’s cognitive characteristics, strengthen the training of the mind music and hearing, emphasize the infection and influence of national music culture, and develop all-round music quality.(4) Put forward feasible suggestions on the use of this set of book and how to make children’s piano learning under a kind of relaxed and happy environment through this book. Proper teaching method and reasonable course collocation will directly affect the quality of teaching. Understanding the editor’s intention of teaching and teaching arrangement through the book research is very important for children’s long insistence of music learning.The Young Children’s Piano Course is a modern piano teaching book which successful makes a perfect combination of Chinese national folk music culture and piano teaching.
