The online community has become a typical representative of the current virtual communities. As the most active groups, college age is also a major user group of We chat. Relationship is an important part during students study and life and it is also an important problem encountered in the growth of college students. The quality of interpersonal relationships affects the mental health of college students. The We chat interpersonal communication circle has an important effect on the reality of social and interpersonal communication network society.In this paper, college students are the target groups, including doctoral students and minorities. Through questionnaires, the paper mainly focused on the following: First, the basic situation about college students using We chat as well as how college students conduct interpersonal communication through We chat; second,What is the effect does We chat have on college students’interpersonal communication; third, the impact of We chat virtual community have on college students. This article also used cross analysis methods to understand the different effects of We chat of interpersonal behavior of students with different gender, education and professional background.Through the survey we can found that We chat pays an impact both positive and negative aspects on college students’interpersonal communication.The positive impacts are:We chat makes college students’interpersonal communication more closer; We chat can meet the demands of college students’ emotional expression further. The circle of friends formed a basis of a virtual community which makes college students feel a stronger sense of belonging. Negative impacts are:college students over-indulge in micro-letters which is easy to waste of time, generate social dependence and lack of touching with reality; We chat is likely to expose university student privacy and affecting normal life; The destruction of social values which has a bad influence on the college students’body and mental health.
