As a carrier of folk culture, folk games are formed on the basis of the traditional culture after continuous processing. With strong local characteristics and life breath, folk games can satisfy the different ages, genders and personality of children, and it can also play an important role in the aspects of children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional developments, which are the refection of so many good memories about the childhood in people’s mind. However, the intensified process of China’s industrialization and urbanization has widely affected our modern social life. Contemporary children’s games, especially urban children’s games are experiencing a tendency to being alienated from nature gradually and deviated from the original life. That is to say, folk games are facing with disappearance from its carrier to its humanistic spirit. Therefore, this study was about to pay attention to study the state of Guangxi Hakka folk games and the problems in cultural inheritance.From the perspective of cultural ecology, this study uses the method of literature research, on-the-spot investigation method, questionnaire survey method and interview method to carry on the systematic investigation of Guangxi Hakka folk games. The place of the field work and the interview was Baibo, a Hakka populated area of Yulin City in Guangxi. While collecting and sorting Guangxi Hakka folk children games and toys, I had examined about the survival status of folk games and the cultural ecological environment of this region.The content of this research in the second chapter mainly introduces the basic situation of Guangxi, and the types, characteristics and functions of Guangxi Hakka folk children games and toys, then discusses the characteristics of the distribution and evolution of Guangxi Hakka folk games. Children’s folk games as part of the folk culture, tradition and modern development inevitably leads to the mutual penetration of adaptive development of children’s folk games. The content of the third chapter is about how is the relationship between Guangxi Hakka folk children games and its own cultural ecological environment, and how eventually it evolved into the present situation from the perspective of cultural ecology, namely to explore the cultural changes in children’s folk games and reasons for the change of ecosystem, and further analysis of the cultural ecological system changes on the influence of Guangxi Hakka folk children games, with an overall understanding of children’s folk games, including the survival and development of children’s folk games state, coordinating the relationship between the elements of the cultural ecology, and what’s more important, to seek traditional culture inheritance and sustainable development for children’s folk games. And in the content of the fourth chapter of this study, the necessity of folk games inheritance is presented and some suggestions are put forward to the inheritance of contemporary Guangxi Hakka folk children games.
