Learning burnout is a phenomenon of emotional exhaustion, improper behavior and low self-efficacy, which results from stress, study loads or other personal psychological factors. Lots of researches have been done on this field, and achieved certain convincing results. However, due to different levels students have in different periods and environments, they may develop various kinds of learning burnout; therefore, research on learning burnout is always a new topic.Inspired by the previous researches, the present study, based on the humanistic theory and so on, chooses Yangxi No.1Middle School as a sample as the research subject, trying to deal with English learning burnout of senior high school students. The investigation adopts the method of questionnaire. The following questions are majorly dealt with:(1) the overall status of English learning burnout of senior high school students, including three dimensions:emotional exhaustion, improper behavior and low self-efficacy.(2) The relationship between senior high school students’ English learning burnout and different demographic characteristics of senior high school students (grade, gender and whether cadres or not).(3) The relationship between senior high school students’English learning burnout and teacher factor, personal factor, partner factor and exam factor in senior high school students’ English learning burnout. After analyzing by using SPSS, the results of the study indicate that the English learning burnout which the senior high school students have their own features as follows:(1) the degree of senior high school students’ English learning burnout is generally high; the students who have low self-efficacy always suffer from the highest learning burnout.(2) Some senior high students also have the problem of emotional exhaustion, thus resulting in improper behavior.(3) The results also indicate that gender, grade and student cadre or not, all these factors would create distinct influence on English learning burnout.(4) There exists strong correlation coefficient between three effecting factors such as teacher factor, partner factor, examination factor and students’ English learning burnout.According the existing problems of the students’ English learning burnout, some related countermeasures are proposed for teachers and school accordingly.(1) Teachers should create harmonious classroom learning atmosphere through enriching teaching methods;(2) Teachers should treat all the students equally and pay special attention to those low-achievement ones;(3) Teachers should help students build up correct English learning attitude so as to improve the efficiency of English learning;(4) Teachers should help students optimize learning method so as to improve their self-efficacy;(5) School and teachers should emphasize the process of students’ English learning and further improve the evaluation means.
