With China’s rapid development and economic globalization, China’s MBA education is undergoing a golden age of development, and has made tremendous contributions for training professional managers for modern enterprises. Meanwhile, the quality of employment for MBA, as one of the key indicators of overall competitiveness of universities and colleges, has gained increasingly attention and recognition. Most paper selected undergraduates or middle school students as subjects, and very few selected postgraduates and managers for research. The research of MBA students, as a special students’group, on their career decision-making, job-searching was small. This thesis aims to study the relationships among achievement motivation, self-efficacy and job-searching behavior by using empirical methodology based on former related researches. The research mainly explored how achievement motivation and self-efficacy influence job-searching behavior separately, and we also tested the mediating role of self-efficacy when achievement motivation impacted job-searching behavior. The research surveyed MBA students in a Shanghai university sent out 193 questionnaires, and finally got 171 samplers. Through reliability test, correlation analysis, regression analysis and analysis of variance, etc., the results of the research show that the majority of hypothesis has been proved, as below:(1)Achievement motivation predicts job-searching behavior significantly;(2)Achievement motivation is a good predictor of self-efficacy; (3)Self-efficacy is a good predictor of job-searching behavior;(4)Self-efficacy partially mediated the relations between achievement motivation and job-searching behavior;(5)We also found that MBA students with different ages, majors, as well as study and marriage status could show different job-searching behaviors significantly. MBA students held considerable achievement motivation and self-efficacy, which didn’t show significant differences in gender, study and marriage status. This emprical study showed first-hand information on how to better carry out the career development training and employment adviory on MBA students. Hope this paper can provide theoretical basis for relevant departments of colleges and universities to conduct vocaitonal guidance.
