| Regional leading industry represents the advantages of industry of an area. It also points out the sustainable and steady development direction of a region’s industry for the foreseeable future. As the representative strength of new technology, regional leading industry will influence and drive other industries development by prospecting and reviewing.The construction of Xiang-Pu Railway will completely end the embarrassing history of Putian, for its thousands of years of no railways. It will strengthen the superior port resource of Meizhou Bay and provide the vast hinterland resources for the complete promotion and development of Putian’s special industry and port-surrounding industry. On this condition, it becomes Putian government’s major social responsibility and duty that how to choose the right leading industry in the future and put it into full play and finally accelerates industrial restructuring and promotes Putian’s economic soaring.Based on the above, this paper studies in depth the selection of leading industry. After making clear the purpose and significance of research, the author complement each other by analyzing and reviewing the previous research findings and finally develop the theoretical framework and methods of this study. First, deepen the understanding by contrasting the concept of leading industry and basic industry, leading industry and pillar industry and other similar industries. Second, design accurate and reasonable indicator system and the lay the foundation for the modeling of selection of leading industry by generalize and summarize the principles of leading industry and basic norms. Third, describe the current status of Putian’s industry from the qualitative point of view. And at the same time, position Putian’s leading industry on the macro level through SWOT analysis of the development of Putian’s industries after the open of Xiang-Pu Railway. And then, utilize the built model of selection of leading industry to analyze the39industries from secondary and tertiary industries in Putian city, calculate the score and ranking of each industry and select the rankings forward in synthetic ordering as the alternative industry of leading industry. And finally, though the combination of Putian’s functional position in regional economy of West Coast of the Straits after the open of Xiang-Pu Railway and factors of characteristic orientation about the city and industry development in Putian’s the twelfth Five-year plan, ultimately determine that gas production and supply industry, handicrafts and other manufacturing industry, tourist industry, financial and insurance industry, information transmission, computer services and software industries as the leading industry in Putian City. |
