This paper investigates the relationship between transformational leadership and voicebehavior under Chinese cultural background. And it also examines the mediating effects oforganizational identification in the relationship between transformational leadership andemployee voice. This research uses a matched sample of233to test the hypotheses.The results of the empirical study showed that:(1) Demographic variables,such as gender, age, education and work experiences have asignificant influence on voice behavior. Among them, male is more active than female on voicebehavior. Age and work experiences have an inverted "U" relationship with voice behavior.Employees with a better education and a higher rank tend to be more active on voice behavior.(2) Transformational leadership has a significant positive influence on voice behavior, andthe influence on promotive voice behavior is much stronger than on prohibitive voice behavior.(3) Transformational leadership and its four dimensions have a significant positive influenceon organizational identification.(4) Organizational identification has a significant positive influence on both promotivevoice behavior and prohibitive voice behavior.(5) Organizational identification plays an intermediary role between transformationalleadership and voice behavior.
