Technical structure of manufacture means reclassifying export manufactures according to itslevel of technical content. On the basis of technical structure, manufacture exports amongemerging countries shows convergence trend. The intense export competition among emergingeconomies may mainly results from the convergence of export technical structure. Based onreleased technical structure data in OEDC BTD database, the value of Euclidean distancebetween emerging economies and high income countries shows downward trend which meansthe export structure of emerging countries is on the upgrade and also reflects that the exportstructure of emerging countries is converging to the same stage. The β-convergence analysis onthe export of different technical levels manifests medium-high and low technology manufacturesshare the fastest convergence. This paper also discusses how the FDI, GDP, import and patentreasons affect the convergence among emerging countries. And it concludes that the greater thevalue of FDI, GDP, import factors are, the higher the similarity of exports structure amongemerging countries is. While the residents apply for more patents, the export structure ofemerging countries will show a big difference. The intense competition among emergingcountries urges the emerging countries to take effective actions to avoid the conflicts and pursuea win-win situation.
