Company X as one of the world’s top500companies, the way it used to buildPLM enterprise-class applications and optimize its processes based on its productsand management point of view has an important significance for Company X to keepits advantage in the competitive market. This thesis analyzes Company X’s PLMbuilding process and application base on wind turbine as product.This thesis consists of four parts. The first part mainly introduces the currentmarket and the development of the wind turbine industry, including the enormouschallenges and competition that wind turbine manufactures faces in the market.The second part mainly introduces the philosophy of product lifecyclemanagement and its development. Additionally, the part focus on introducing theimportance of PLM, includes increase production efficiency, achieve cost reductionthrough process improvement, meet the growth in customer demand withoutincreasing asset investment, directly help enterprises to improve their competitiveness,and support long-term growth and expand market share. At the same time, the thesisintroduces the purpose of implementing PLM, building planning, as well as the majorsuppliers of PLM systems.The third part introduces the process of build and implementation PLM in theCompany X. Also introduces the way to comprehensive analysis and evaluation of thePLM implementation through research and a variety of communication methods, andthe way to develop the implementation process and program through the analysis ofthe project team. Furthermore, the thesis focus on introducing the PLMimplementation planning of Company X, the project team organization andrequirement, the way that build PLM application foundation through training systemset up, and the establishment of PLM improvement methods and process.The last part analyzes the life cycle of wind turbine, and introduces the majorPLM components function and application with wind turbine product as background.
