With the rapid development of economic society and urbanization,the contradiction of the total supply and the total demand of the landresources often causes widespread attention.Land resources areirreplaceable natural environmental resources for the survival anddevelopment of human. The "scarcity" and “irreplicability”isthe"bottleneck"of development. Dealing with the contradictions of landresources, environment with the economic growth becomes an importantglobal topic that urgently requires to be studied and solved.Land is a carrier of the population and various economic factors, andland for construction is the basis for the normal functioning of the cityand plays an irreplaceable role in the urban development process.Atpresent,as our county stays at a period of rapid development ofindustrialization and urbanization,the land used for city construction,andthe contradiction of the supply and demand becomes extremelyoutstanding.In this paper, urban construction land demand forecast andthe ultimate capacity of land in the overall urban planning are basicobjects for research. With2001-2010Xuejiawan urban land usechanging data and socio-economic statistics combined,the paper analyzed in two parts on the basis of the analysis of domestic and foreignconstruction land demand forecast theory.The first part is for the natural factors, focusing on land use factors,using GIS technology,through excluding the features of construction landand overlaying the topographic maps which means excluding the landwhose slope is not suitable for development and construction,the basicfarming land from the land for construction in the area beingstudied.of land excised in the study area, construction land planning map,the area of old city not going to be demolished, the area of mineralresources, the rest is research area which still can be expanded.Anotherpart is for the socio-economic factors. Through qualitative comparativeanalysis, a variety of socio-economic factors are selected, and principalcomponent analysis are achieved by using SPSS software, and then itselects the five most representative factors, using multiple linearregression equation, and model to predict the demand for land forconstruction. At last the demand for urban construction land is derived.Finally,we balance the results of the two parts of the, obtained the sizeof the land for construction of the Xuejiawan,Zhungeer Research Area,Erdos City, Inner Mongolia. Briefly, this thesis is to study twoquestions:How much land for construction in Xuejiawan and how we cansave urban land to sustain the development.The model of construction land demand built in this article has a certain theoretical and practical value and can provide a useful referencefor further study of the kind of urban construction land demand.
