With the rapid development of economic society and urbanization, the contradiction of the total supply and the total demand of theland resources often causes widespread attention.Land resources are irreplaceable natural environmental resources for the survival and developmentof human. The "scarcity" and "irreplicability"is the"bottleneck"of development. Dealing with the contradictions of land resources, environment with the economicgrowth become an important global topic that urgently require to be studied and solved.Land is a carrier of the population and various economic factors, and land for construction is the basis for the normal functioning of city and plays an irreplaceable role in the urban development process.At present,as our countystays at a period of rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,the land used for city construction,and the contradiction of the supply and demand becomes extremely outstanding.In this paper, urban construction land demand forecast and the ultimate capacity of land in the overall urban planningare basic objects for research. With2001-2010Ordosequipmenbase urban land use changing data and socio-economic.statistic combined,the paper analyzed in two parts on the basis of the analysis of domestic and foreign construction land demand forecast theory.The first part is for the natural factors, focusing on land use factors, using GIS technology,through excluding the features ofconstruction land and overlaying the topographic maps which means excluding the land whose slope is not suitable for development and construction,thebasic farming land from the land for construction in the area being studied.Of land excised in the study area, construction land planning map, the area ofold city not going to be demolished, the area of mineral resources, the rest isresearch area which still can be expanded.Another part is for the socio-econo mic factors. Through qualitative comparative analysis, a variety of socio-economic factors are selected, and principal component analysis are achieved byusing SPSS software, and then it selects the five most representative factors, using multiple linear regression equation, and model to predict the demand forland for construction. At last the demand for urban construction land is derived. Finally,we balance the results of the two parts of the, obtained the size ofthe land for construction of the Ordos equipmentbase,Zhungeer Research Area, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. Briefly, this thesis is to study two questions:How much land for construction in Ordosand how we can save urban land to sustain the development.The model of construction land demand built in this article has a certaintheoretical and practical value and can provide a useful reference for further study of the kind of urban construction land demand.
