Our country is one of the earliest countries in developing sericulture industry in the world, and also has the largest cocoon production in the world. As a large agricultural country, a, sericulture has been one of the important industry in our rural and agricultural development. Shaoxing City has a long history of development of sericulture, and an important producer of Zhejiang Province. However, since the1990s of the last century, the price of cocoon silk at home and abroad gradually decreased, and the sericulture industry in Shaoxing has gone through the process of prosperity and decline.Author conducted a survey and in-depth analysis of the development status of the sericulture industry in Shaoxing City through a variety of survey methods, with Shaoxing City as an example, and the future development strategies were investigated and analyzed on the basis of sericulture industry in Shaoxing City, Which Provide a reference for local governments and relevant departments to develop strategies and measures.The results show that, Shaoxing City has the natural conditions and advantages for the development of sericulture, and also known for the development of sericulture industry in a certain period of time. With the price volatility of international cocoon in the new century, mulberry area and cocoon production of Shaoxing City decreased in varying degrees. In view of this situation, the author gave a few suggestions from the legislative, regulatory, capital investment, investment in science and technology and human resources point of view. Hope through the work of the above aspects can really promote the development of sericulture in Shaoxing City, sustained, steady and healthy.
