Study On Development Situation And Countermeasures Of Sericulture In Changyi

China is not only the cradle of sericulture in the world, but also the country which has th e largest production of silkworm cocoon and raw silk. Changyi in Shandong Province is a wor ld-known silk city, which boasts its long history of mulberry cultivation, silkworm breeding a nd silk reeling. Its high-quality techniques and perfect qualities always embody five-thousand-year-old excellent culture and historical civilization of Chinese nations. However, since 1990 s the sericulture has gone through the process of being prosperous to being depressed under th e influence of low price of cocoon silk home and abroad. Although the sericulture in Changyi has shown the tendency of being recovered with the strong support from the government or th anks to the increase silk price, there still exist many problems. Therefore, the study of sericult ure development, existing problems and future countermeasures will be practically significant for Changyi.Based on the fore-mentioned background, this study makes an in-depth investigation and analysis of sericulture development history and status quo in Changyi by means of data colle ction and field survey, based on which it analyzes some main problems to inhibit the sericultu re development of Changyi, and finally puts forwards some countermeasures and suggestions to develop sericulture in Changyi so as to provide references for sustainable, stable and health y sericulture development in Changyi.The study shows that Changyi has rich natural resources and social and economical adva ntages to develop sericulture. However, under the influence of international markets in recent years, the scale and distribution of sericulture, silk yield and mulberry leaf yield have decreas ed a lot. The reasons which cause such problems are concluded as:(1) the preferential policy i s not well-grounded and well implemented, which makes silkworm raisers bear much risk and influences their enthusiasm to grow mulberry and breed silkworms;(2) the investment is und er-funded, which makes infrastructure construction lag behind, leads to insufficient investmen t mechanism and supervision and lacking talents and technical investment;(3) the industry has not been fully integrated, the industrial chain is short, and the comprehensive utilization and r esearch of sericultural products and by-products are not enough,which leads to small market a nd limited market opening ability.In order to solve the existing problems in sericulture of Changyi, the following counterm easures and suggestions are proposed based on the sericulture development advantages of Changyi:(1) Pay more attention to sericulture development, build up special fund for sericulture d evelopment and increase the input intensity in sericulture; introduce talents and innovate tech nologies and build special research institute to promote scale farming technologies; well impl ement such preferential policies as tax, agricultural capital allowance, and reduction of land c ontract fee; change mode of production, set up cooperatives, increase insurance investment an d minimize silkworm raisers’ risk.(2) Deepen integration reform, promote the transformatio n and upgrading of sericulture, increase the deep processing intensity of silk products and exte nd industrial chain.(3) Open new markets with high-quality products to make products out of China to the world.
