Manufacturer Dominated Lean Supply Chain Risk Management Research

Recently, with the success of supply chain transformation in Toyota, a new wavefor research the lean theory has been set off. Many companies try to copy the Toyotamodel to reengineer the current supply chain management. Indeed, the innovation ofmanagement method has benefits for company, but how to effectively introduce thenew method into the traditional supply chain management really worth thinking. Inthe same way, because of the supply chain risk events happens frequently by manyreasons recently, the damages makes people start to pay attention to its protection andearly warming. So, lean supply chain has suffered risk and pressures from differentways, especiallyunder the domination of manufacturers which has their ownoutstanding features and needed to formulate risk management to protect the wholeoperation. Unfortunately, from current documents, there only have limited research oflean supply chain risk management, and also has little specific research for themanufacturer dominated supply chain. Since the theory of constrains to be a new andeffective analysis method could help company analyses the risk issues and find out allthe negative factors which effect the whole operation, then company could take stepsto protect. Therefore, this paper chooses the manufacturer dominated lean supplychain risk management to be this research topic.Firstly, this paper reviewed the related research results at home and aboard, andbriefly described the limitation of current research, those provide beneficial referencefor next analysis. Second are the risk factors in the manufacture dominated leansupply chain. Then through release and collect questionnaires to get data, the AHPcould find out final scores of each risk factor to understand the impacts of each factor.Use logical analysis of TOC to describe the individual and general Current RealityTrees, so the managers can observe the cause-effect relationship between each factorand negative factors. Make deep analysis to these by using Evaporating Clouds, andsearch for core problems forproviding related protection or early warming. Collecttheinformation from companies during the internship could help prove the necessarilyof this topic. The main viewpoints are as follow: the interrupt risk is the core from theperspective of risk degree, and the vendor relationship is the key point from theperspective of risk category. Company should pay more attention on those two points,and use the analysis method into the reality to help find core problem more efficient.
