Research On Jean Baudrillard Symbol Consumption Thought

Jean Baudrillard as a post-mordernity theory master, his theoretic pointed a new way to research the society of mordern western captalism for those scholars. Since world war Ⅱ, the world economic come to recovery, the development of industral revolution push the high-technology industry forward that greatly improved of social productive forces, along with the development of industry, people’s material wealth has enriched dramatically, just under such a background, the capitalism society entry into a consumer society. Baudrillard put a eye on this society and he trickled published his work in1968, from The System of Objects to Symbolic Exchange and Deathe we can find an obvious trend that baudrillard’s theory form jump out of the marxist theoretical framework to abandon Marx’s theory. The author trying to use baudrillard’s symbol consumption theory to analysis and get hold of the characteristic of postmodern theory and at the same time the author also hope through this paper can make a contribution to socialist research. Then, through the following five parts the author trying to analysis baudrillard’s theory:The first part is an introductive part, including some information about Jean baudrillard’s life and works, his academic thought.The second part is the background of baudrillard’s academic, analysis his three major stages and the person effect on him in each stages.such as Roland Barthes, Henri Lefebvre and Ferdinand de Soussre. Baudrillard’s analysis on the basis of drawing on previous and further expand the Marxist eventually forming his own Symbol Consumption theory.The third part is baudrillard Symbol Consumer theory of contemporary revelation, in this part author described the contribution of baudrillard’s theory and combined with characteristics of our present social development reveals the value and role of the ideological and theoretical.The fourth part, author described the limitations of baudrillard’s symbol consumption theory. This section is intended to analysis some immature place in his theory.The last part, is the epilogue, in this part author affirmed the importance of the theoretical value of baudrillard once again, sunmarizes and reviews the important content of this paper and made a positive outlook for the future.
