| Economic and technological development zone in Hohhot as the first state-level economic and technological development zone in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, since it was founded in2000with the support of national and regional preferential policies, it has vigorously carried out investment promotion and capital introduction and industrial park construction. It has became the important growth pole of regional economy development. Development zone in2003, gross industrial output value, industrial added value, fiscal revenue respectively are41.72%,48.23%,16.94%of the total in the whole city, almost accounting for half of Hohhot industrial economy.This paper reviews the development of Hohhot economic and technological development zone construction course, and then stresses its contribution to the city’s economic development through the comparison and analysis. We chose the economic scale, economic growth force, extroverted degree and the fiscal and taxation feedback four indicators and refer to the predecessors’research results to determine the weight of each index and the weighted calculation, and then get development zone comprehensive contribution. Longitudinally comparing the impaction of the Hohhot economic and technological development zone since it was builded in2000to the city’s economic development; transversely contrasting the contribution to the city’s economic development of the main11state-level development zone of the provincial capital cities in the western region.
