Originated in business credit card, with the commercial banks initiating issuingbank cards and the introduction of information technology to information processingtransactions, bank cards was developed into the latest evolution of the current formsof money-electronic money, and will bring the human society into the era ofelectronic money and electronic payments. Bank card, as one kind of electronicmoney has already induced enormous changes to consumer with the mode and habitof consumption payment, and its function of consumption micro-credit andelectronic payment mode together impact profoundly on the consumption behaviorof consumers, has a positive effect on promotion of consumption and economicgrowth.These years, the global economic slowed down; the growth of macro-economicslowed down significantly. Chinas export growth declined significantly due to thesharply fall in demand of foreign country, and it is negative growth now. Stimulatingdomestic demand to promote the growth of consumption has become a majorproblem to stimulate economic development. In this context, the tone ofmacro-policy adjusted to proactive fiscal policy and loose monetary policy, and theGovernment issued a series of economic growth macroeconomic policies. PeoplesBank of China together with Banking Regulatory Commission jointly issued a reportwith the title of "10views on the structural adjustment of credit"; it reported clearly"to encourage the development of consumption credit to make the market ofconsumption credit bigger and better". It can be foreseen, in order to inhibit themacro-economic downturn, consumption credit is an effective means to drive thegrowth of consumption and to promote the growth of economic.All of bank card industry, the mechanism of economic operation and the existingresearch literatures, have shown that bank cards have promotion effect onconsumption. In this paper, firstly, an analysis of the characteristic of consumptionbehavior and the basic situation of credit card consumption credit of urban residentsin China was summarized; the mechanisms of bank cards to promote consumption and economic growth was theoretically analyzed;and the relevant researchliteratures were summarized and reviewed. Secondly, on this basis, based on thestandpoint of bank card-based payment has an impact on consumer behavior andconsumption credit card can effectively promote the consumption, three status wereanalyzed including to explore the effect of bank card payment mode on theconsumption behavior of urban residents in China, the long-term relationship andshort-term relationship between consumption by bank card and retail consumption,the long-term relationship and short-term relationship between consumption creditand consumption growth; the methods we used were the framework of econometricregression analysis, error correction model and panel data model. Finally, a briefsummary and analysis the experience of promoting the development initiatives ofbank cards industry from international, as well as the regulatory policies of guaranteethe healthy development of the bank card industry was done; and an analysis of theindustrial policy to promote the development of bank card industry in China wassummarized, recommendations to further promote the health and rapiddevelopment of Chinas banking card industry were put forward.In this paper, this main body is composed of the theory and the modelsystem.The characteristic of this paper is to explore to establish a model on theimpact of bank card payment system to consumer behavior of urban residents, and agood estimation model was achieved by empirical test.
