With China’s per capita GDP increasing and the people’s income improving, our country has entered the transformation of consumption upgrade.It suffers a gradually transition from the satisfaction of material matters to the growing demand of spiritual cultural products consuming. The economic developing and the income growing will promote cultural demand. On one hand, the per capita disposable income is growing, and the Engel’s coefficient is downing, and people culture consumer spending continues to improve, and the demand of cultural products consuming increasing strong. On the other hand, cultural products trade recorded year by year and the cultural trade developed quickly. However, China’s core products trade in import is more than export, and cultural products import have remained stable growth. The relationship between the demand on cultural product consuming growing and the import of cultural products is remarkable.This thesis followed by the several aspects:firstly, it made a detailed analysis about the status of the urban and rural residents’ cultural consumption demand and the cultural products importing, then come to the conclusion that the cultural consumption demand of residents in our country developed rapidly, and the total culture consumption continuously increased, but the proportion of the cultural consumption to total is still low, the market potential of cultural consumption is tremendous; on cultural trade, the import of core cultural products such as books, periodicals, copyright, was growing steadily. Secondly, it stated the mechanism on which way the consumption demand changing the international trade, and introduced Linder’s Theory of Preference Similarity to explain the cultural trade, and then expand this theory; In addition, it tried to explain the cultural trade from the perspective of needs on basing on Theory of cultural capital, Theory of Keynes international trade and The Engel’s laws. Finally, it showed that it correlated between people’s cultural consumption and the import of cultural products through the empirical studies on cointegration analysis. Although their growth is smooth, in the long run, they constituted a long-term equilibrium relationship.The demand of cultural products is elastic, and there is a correlated on the demand growing of cultural consumer and import of cultural products. Through the study of the present situation, the theory and empirical analysis of cultural consumption demand and cultural products import, it can provide certain basis for optimizing the imported structure of cultural products and strengthening the construction of our cultural industry. On the other hand, the combination research of the theory and the empirical is used for further understanding cultural consuming demand on cultural products trade, at the same time it provided a new angle for cultural trade and established the basic relations.
