The innovation of agricultural technology is the essential driving force to promote thedevelopment of agriculture and to increase of the income of farmers, and the innovation oftechnology of fine breeding of seeds is the fundamental basis to improve the efficiency ofagriculture and has immensely contributed to the agricultural production. Innovation oftechnology is important, but whether the advantage of innovation could be fully embodied willdepend on its extensive utilization, thus the application of innovation is more important than theinnovation itself. Statistics shows that only30-40%of more than7000annual agriculturaltechnological innovations of China were practically applied to the agricultural production. Thecomparatively lower utilizing efficiency of the agricultural technology application among farmershas greatly declined the advantage of the agricultural innovations. How would the most efficientcountermeasures be found that may turn the potential production forces into practical ones? This isthe aim of every technology innovation would pursuit. But the production force transformation inthe process of the agricultural technology spreading is just one of the problems and could not beregarded as preconditions. In order to improve the spread rate of the technology, we must analyzethe selective behaviors that farmers conduct in utilizing new agricultural technologies. Theselective behaviors of farmers will directly influence the speed and efficiency of the agriculturaltechnology spreading. How would farmers select a new technology, what are their selectivebehaviors and what may influence their selective behaviors, etc. are the aspects researches shouldcover and with demonstration analyses can the influencing factors be found in the selectivebehaviors of farmers, and the findings will play important and practical roles in improving thespread rate of agricultural technology, amending the spreading system, adjusting effectively theagricultural policies and achieving agricultural modernization targets. With the basic theories of sociology, behavioristics and regional development economics, regarding farmers as object of the study, the dissertation hereby analyzes the cotton seeds selectingbehaviors of the farmers and the sources of the seeds etc. based on the data from investigations ofthe technology conditions that farmers select cotton seeds in Aksu, one of the essential cottonproduction areas in Xinjiang, and also analyzes the influencing factors in the cotton seedsselecting behaviors of farmers by using Logistic models, which indicates that the size of the cottonfields and the degree of education of the farmers are main factors that have influenced the cottonseeds selecting behaviors of farmers in Aksu. Accordingly, the dissertation puts forward relevantopinions and proposals on improving the agricultural technology spreading system.
