The globalization and information are the two major trends in the present world. As a product of the combination of modern finance and technology, bank card industry has developed for nearly60years. Now it has entered a new stage to accelerate structural adjustment, improve the competitiveness of thebank card industry.In China, the bank card industry have developed in a dramatic speed, due to people’s spending habits and great support from the government. As the payment market constantly open,there are a lot of payment company has been set up in China, and after joining the WTO, Foreign Companies looking for opportunities to enter the Chinese market, This makes the current participants of bank card industry in China face more intense competition.China UnionPay to study how to effectively respond to changes in the external environment, Formulating the development direction and its own development strategy to meet the challenges, opportunities, is a serious problem.Firstly, this article analyzethemacroscopic environment, internal conditions of China UnionPay, and reviewed the development of bank card industry in China. Secondly,analyze the industry environment, using of the qualitative and quantitativeanalysis method, get the advantages and disadvantages, opportunity and threaten of China UnionPay,And have the competition strategy elements. Then, Using the SWOT methodevaluation, point out the opportunities and challenges, Improve enterprise competitiveness.
