The competition among modern enterprises is the competition of human resources.Performance management, as an important tool of comprehensive human resourcemanagement, is considered more and more important by enterprises. Scientific andreasonable performance management system can fully arouse the staff’s potential,enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. In recent years, many domestic enterprisesbegan to introduce the western performance management system and used it as themanagement of human resources, but in practice they found many problems andpuzzles.In this article, firstly we provide an overview of the performance managementdevelopment both in domestic and abroad, introduce and compare the widely appliedperformance management methods.Then we describe the basic situation ofperformance management in manufacturing company H, analyze the problems andreasons. Based on that, we propose the design idea and the concrete scheme ofperformance management.Based on performance management theory we focus on the integrated use of keyperformance indicators and360-degree evaluation method performance managementtools. The performance plan, performance implementation, performance evaluation,performance feedback and performance results of application is described and designedin detail, which makes the performance management system more scientific andsystematic. When design the performance indicators, the efficiency indicators areintroduced to guide employees of H Company to enhance production efficiency andreduce production costs. In this article, we also describe preparations, guidelines andprocess for implementation of performance management system in detail.In the preliminary practice, the system has improved manufacturing efficiency andthe performance, motivated employees, enhanced employees’ sense of fairness, andincreased employees’ satisfaction. At the same time, the system could provide somereference both in theory and in practice for the domestic manufacturing enterprises toform a perfect performance management system.
