Since the21st century, China’s crude oil security is facing an increasingly grim situation:on the one hand, China’s rapid economic development and social transition have stimulated the rapid growth of crude oil consumption; on the other hand, China’s domestic crude oil is seriously shortage, resulting in the rapid expansion of the crude oil imports scale; in addition, the spatial pattern of China’s crude oil is formed, but the security situation is still not optimistic. This article based on the oil security, firstly analyses of the situation of China’s crude oil production and consumption, import and security, and makes an evaluation on China’s crude oil security. Based on this, on the one hand, the article analyses the characteristics and reasons of the evolution of1993-2009years of China’s crude oil imports spatial pattern from temporal evolution; on the other hand, discusses the key area selection of China’s crude oil import from the future development, and this has a certain significance for the optimization of China’s crude oil imports sources and formulating a crude oil imports security strategy, Specifically:First of all, analyses of the1980-2010years of China’s crude oil production and consumption in detail, the results show that the contradiction between supply and demand of crude oil in China is becoming increasingly acute; secondly, further studies the change of China’s crude oil dependence; lastly, draws lessons from other experts and scholars’methods, establishes the evaluation index system of China’s crude oil security and makes evaluations on China’s crude oil security. This article detailed analyses of1993-2010years the spatial distribution and its changes of China’s crude oil import country (and area),and uses Arc GIS mapping, showing the spatial distribution of the different periods of China’s crude oil import sources intuitively. On this basis, draws on the theory of complex networks, using the entropy weight to do a quantitative analysis for the internal structure of China’s crude oil imports spatial pattern, summarizing the ordered changes of China’s crude oil imports spatial pattern structure. This article firstly analyses the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the former Soviet Union, South America, Asia Pacific and North America these six crude oil resource-rich regions from the three aspects as the crude oil reserves, production and exports, followed by studying the transportation distance and geopolitical relations between these crude oil resource-rich regions and China, on this basis, uses the semi-quantitative method, proposing the key area selection of China’s crude oil import country.
