Research On The Efficiency Of The Listed Electric Power Enterprises In China Beased On DEA Method

The electricity industry is an important basic industry of thenational economy and social development, is to ensure the smooth progressof the foundation of China’s socialist modernization. In the plannedeconomy period before the reform and opening up, China’s power industryis highly monopolistic industry under state control, the small numberof power plants, power generation efficiency is low, lack of electricalenergy, power industry development could not keep pace with the needsof economic development, the community electrical energy demand can notbe met. Three decades of reform and opening up, China’s electric powerindustry a series of reforms, breaking a run electricity monopoly,expanding the main players in the market, so that more enterprises toparticipate to run electricity to the electric power system reform hasachieved remarkable progress, accelerate the pace of development ofChina’s electric power industry. In this case, the study of the electricpower industry (mainly power generation companies) performance analysis,power generation companies, power generation business performanceissues, to further improve the efficiency of power generationenterprises has important reference and significance.This paper first reviews the domestic and foreign enterprises performance evaluation theory and the status of power generationenterprise performance evaluation, described the development of China’selectric power industry reform process of the problems of China’selectric power industry and SCP model to analyze the status of China’spower industry. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to analyze theperformance of the listed power generation companies in China, theresults show in the sample year, China’s listed power generationcompanies overall efficiency has improved, the overall level is better,but still more obvious differences between enterprises. On this basis,the use of the Tobit model for regression analysis of influencing factorson firm performance, the results showed China’s listed power generationbusiness performance and assets yield significant positive correlation.According to the analysis conclusion, this paper combined with thesituation of power industry in our country, gives the correspondingpolicy recommendations: to continue to relax restrictions on privatecapital into the electric power industry; To strengthen the supervisionof power enterprises operation and management, improve the operatingefficiency of institutions of corporate decision-making; To reduce thegovernment’s intervention on electric power industry, to encouragemergers and reorganization among enterprises, improve the quality of thecompany, in order to promote the performance of ascension.
