Development Of Rizhao City Transportation Under The Concept Of Sustainable Development

As a major portion of the tertiary industry, transport is a basic and pillar industry of national economy, a link among economic activities. Transport is closely related to other industries of national economy, and has been greatly promoting the development of economic society of China. During the past30years since reform and opening-up, transport has got significant achievement and development. However, it is clear that transport before the foundation of PRC and before reform and opening-up developed in a conservative way instead of a sustainable way, which was restricted by environment and resources, and had negative influence on relatively economic society of China.Therefore, a sustainable way should be found, i.e., to meet the demand of economic development as well as the harmony and interaction between transport and zoology, resources, environment and social economy. Such sustainable theory and practice are widely concerned by the country and the society.On the basis of current existing theories of sustainable development and transport development, the author introduces the notion of sustainable development of transport, analyzes the problems of management of local government on transport and the causes, raises solutions and suggestions about sustainable development of transport in Rizhao, in the hope of faster development of local transport system reform, and better development of economy and society of Rizhao.
