Research On Intra-county Economic Development Of Minority Areas

Intra-county economy is a kind of regional economy which is defined in countyadministrative division. As the basic unit of the national economy，intra-countyeconomy involved in every fields of our society such as production, circulation,consumption, distribution, and all the departments of primary industry, secondaryindustry, and tertiary industry. It affects the national economy directly. At present, itbecome the core content of people from every part of our society and the governmentthat how to make good use of the policy platform of the state and local government, andexercise the advantage of the county, thus to make the intra-county economy mightyand the society operate healthily. Due to social, natural, historical and other factors, theeconomy of minority counties are relatively backward. Readjusting the industrialstructure, improving and upgrading the industrial structure can realize a rapid andsmoothing development of economy in minority counties. That will be important tonarrow the development gap and realize a coordinative development of regionaleconomy and thus make our people of all the nationalities a common prosperity.Zhijiang, located at the western part of Hunan province, is a typical minoritycounty. In recent yeas, its economic aggregate is increasing year by year, its economicstructure is becoming more and more reasonable, and the county’s infrastructure isimproving. However, its economic development is restricted by a series of problems.This thesis will discuss the problem about how to make the economy of ZhijiangCounty more competitive on the basis of existing theories and analysis of qualitativeand quantitative, trying to make its comparative advantage functioning and then pushforward its economic development.In this thesis, I first elaborate the background, the meaning of my selection,research technique, and the possible innovations. Then, I state relative literature reviewat home and abroad, theoretical basis and related notions. Thirdly, I analyze the currentsituation of Zhijiang’s economy，on the basis of which, I make a specific evaluationsystem according to the factual situations of Zhijiang, and make relevant evaluations. Inthe end, I give my suggestions about how to promote the competitive power ofZhijiang’s intra-county economy. Furthermore, this thesis is expected a model functionto other minority concentrated region.
