Analysis On Technology Spillover Effect Of Fdi On China’s High-tech Industries In Three Major Regions

Under the background of economic globalization, trade, capital flows andtechnology transfer have become frequent.FDI is the main way of international capitalflow,which can lead to have a profound impact on the country’s economicdevelopment and technological progress.Since the reform and opening up, especiallyWTO,the foreign capital enterprises are attracted to reach the continued expansion ofinvesting scales.FDI has influence in Chinese economy through direct and indirecteffect,meanwhile it also effects technical level of China’s domestic high-techindustries,which is the leading industry of the national economy.However mostscholars often take an entire country for researches of foreign direct investmenttoward high-tech industries instead of the actual situation of the country. From theregional point of view, this article aims to study the FDI technology spillover effect ofhigh-tech industry.Through studying the high-tech industries,it can improve the levelof technology and reduce the regional differences on using the foreign capital,finallyit improves the entire level of our economy.This article firstly elaborates theoretical basis of the theory of foreign directinvestment and technology spillovers, it also analyzes the meaning of the high-techindustry; Secondly, it analyzes the general situation of the economic development ofChina’s three major regions and the difference of the use of FDI.After that it alsoanalyzes the general economic situation of the high-tech industries of China’s threemajor regions and the difference of the use of FDI.The following is experientialanalysis on the spillover effect of high-tech industry influenced by foreign directinvestments.According to the date of high-tech industries from2002to2011,itanalysis the technology spillover effect by the time series model.The conclusionshows that in the eastern districts,foreign direct investment toward high-tech industrywill have significant effect;toward middle part not obvious effect;meanwhile towardwestern part negative effect.Finally, on the basis of different effects caused by FDItoward high-tech industry in districts, this article poses the corresponding proposal.
