By the successful application in General Electric, Motorola and other large companies,Six Sigma method is widely concerned since the1980s and1990s. Starting from QualityManagement, this paper detailly introduces the method and the principle of Six Sigma, andmakes a systematic study of the DMAIC in production management of Hunan JinshuitangMining Enterprises. This paper makes a overview on its experience and shortcoming inquality control to Hunan Jinshuitang Mining Enterprises, and analyzes the existingproblems in production management. The paper makes using of statistical analysis method,the Pareto Diagram, cause and effect diagram, field observation, field survey methods,experience and other methods, etc., to illustrate the concrete application of Six SigmaManagement in production management from the team factors (human factors), workorganization and visual management factors (environmental factors), material managementfactors (material factors), equipment maintenance and repair factors (equipment factors),workshop management (method factors).Research results show that the factors influencing the production management ofHunan Jinshuitang Mining Enterprise include: poor communication, no-conform to theman-machine engineering, the waste of action, excess inventory, long waiting time, theunreasonable design of handling, production overcapacity, unnecessary processing etc. Onthis basis, the paper put forward five improvements from the team work factor, stationorganization and visual management factors, material management, equipmentmaintenance and repair factors, workshop management factors, and makes a further designof the quality control mechanism. By the using of Six Sigma management system, theenterprise makes a positive promoting on production efficiency, quality, and gainsremarkable economic benefits.
