Small&Medium Enterprises is playing an increasingly important role inexpanding employment, promoting economic growth, maintaining social stability.Under the background of rapid development of global SMEs and being the mainforce of industrial development, the research on the growth of the SMEs is animportant issue.Based on the growth theories of SMEs such as Innovation’s theory of thegrowth of the firm, the paper discusses Definition of Innovation affecting thegrowth of SMEs and makes use of efficacy coefficient method, and mixes with thematrix singular value method and principal component analysis to evaluate theinnovation of116SMEs in HeFei City by31indexes which are selected accordingto social environment of firm’s Investment in innovation, Innovation environment,Innovation process, Innovation output. And we get the rank of SMEs in HeFei City.Then, the paper draws the following conclusions about SMEs in HeFei City onthe basis of this analysis: the whole Innovation is not prominent; Intellectualproperty system is unreasonable; Level of risk management needs to be improved;Financing channels are narrow and Personnel development system is imperfect.According to the Status of the Innovation of SMEs in HeFei City, we can take somemeasures from the following perspective to accelerate the Innovation of SMEs: tobuild independently comprehensive innovation system to support SMEsdevelopment, actively expand financing channels,to build a full range ofindependent innovation risk management system,to establish a sound intellectualproperty management system,to establish effective and innovative personneldevelopment system.
