The Research On The Choice And Development Of Leading Industries In Sichuan Province

Regional leading industry is the main (part and frame work of the regional industry system. Evaluate and select leading industrial clusters, have become the focus of the international competition.The development of leading industrial clusters direct impact on the level of a country or a region’s economic development level. According to the needs of society and development trend of technology, select the latent strategic leading industries which have comparative advantage has great significance for economy development.This paper uses the data of the input-output table and statistical yearbook. It uses statistics, regional economics and other disciplines knowledge. On the basis of extensive research on the related theory at home and abroad, the paper uses principal component analysis as the main method, combining with the methods of comparative analysis. It makes an empirical research on the selection of leading industry in Sichuan province.We combine qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis to discuss the choice of leading industrial clusters of Sichuan province. Qualitative analysis is mainly on the analysis of the major industrialized countries on the leading industries. We learn the development present situation of Sichuan province, the environment factors and the actual econbmic situation on affecting the formation of its leading industry. Quantitative analysis is focus on the index system and the model of principal component analysis, combined with the input-output table and statistical yearbook data to determine the leading industry clusters of Sichuan province:animal husbandry fishery industry, real estate industry, finance insurance industry, polytechnical services industry, Wholesale and retail establishments industry, construction industry, tourism industry, other social services industry, culture, sports and entertainment industry, coal mining and dressing industry. The innovation of this paper lies in that we compare different years of cluster results, then we can grasp the choosing and the dynamic features of leading industry.
