The Application Of Integrated Management System In Cosmetic Production Industry

With the rapid economic development and improvement of people’s living level,cosmetics are increasingly becoming the indispensable necessities in our daily life.Cosmetics is a special industry, the products would contact human skin and furdirectly, there are many security problems happened during the cosmeticsdevelopment and use, so consumers and all sectors of society also pay close attentionto the production quality.The purpose of this paper is to introduce many sets of advanced managementmethod to the cosmetics production company, to set up an integrated managementsystem. Such as ISO9001quality management system is the most well known qualitymanagement system; But due to the particularity of the cosmetics industry, allcountries and regions also have their own requirements on the production process, inorder to ensure the products would reach a higher level of quality. For example GMPissued by the US FDA and GMPC issued by EU bring cosmetics into drug levelmonitoring; BRC standard issued by British Retail Consortium bring cosmetics intofood level monitoring. International organization for standardization had issuedISO22716Cosmetics-Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)–Guidelines on GoodManufacturing Practices. This standard provides cosmetics production companieswith operational guidelines of production, control, storage, etc.Most cosmetic companies had set up one or two, even three kinds of ISO9000,ISO22716and BRC management systems. In order to improve the effectiveness andefficiency of management, to reduce the cost, it is imperative to integrate thesemanagement systems into an integrated management system. Though the requirementand depth of these management systems are different; but the essences of thesemanagement systems are all the issue of quality management. So what we should dois to implement a Total Quality Management system which also conformed to thesemanagement systems. During the implement, ISO9001quality management system isthe basic foundation. We should add and embed the requirement of ISO22716andBRC into this system, in this system, so these three management system can operatedcollaboratively, so the problem would be simple. This paper used Xiamen XXXCosmetic Factory as a sample, introduced the method of set up the integrated management system of ISO9000, ISO22716and BRC. It has certain referencemeaning and practical value for the cosmetics industry to implement the integratedmanagement system.
