Food security is a global problem. It is an especially prominent problem in developing countries. According to FAO’s recent estimation, there were more than one billion hungry people in the word in2009. And the developing countries accounted for98.5%. Under the background of food crisis, food is regarded as an important content of national strategy and public policy. The cultivated land has become a strategic global resources and the world has entered into a farmland race. For the invested countries, under the favorable domestic and overseas environment, attracting foreign investments by one’s agricultural resource, so as to ensure the food security of the country, is not only beneficial for the development of the country, but also contribute to the world’s food security mitigation, bringing about the all-win for all parties.At first, the paper summed up the overseas cultivated land investments cases and made a introduction of fundamental state in this field, especially the distribution of the main investing and invested countries in the world. Eighteen representative countries were selected from the cases. Then, it analyzed the necessity and possibility of the investments on the ground of situations and demands in invested countries and the influencing factors of the countries’attraction. In the empirical analysis of the last part, an investment attraction evaluation model was set up from five aspects, so as to make an evaluation of the representative countries. What’s more, it made an analysis of the main potential invested area in the whole world. In the end, relevant suggestions about overseas cultivated land investments were made based on the actual situation of China.
