There are many tourism resources in Gansu Province, three5A level and fitfeen4A level scenic spots. But due to traffic conditions and economic factors. So thetourism economy is not highly developed. The central cities have great effect on thesurrounding tourism hinterlands obviously.First we make principal component analysis to the index which affect the city’stourism composite scale of Gansu Province. Clustering the factor scores, to ifnd outthe central cities. We use the spatial analysis method of vector data. Calculating theisochronous rings of central cities,and prefecture-level cities’ traffic accessibility.Analysis the accessibility of different cities.Apply the theory of urban geography to the tourism industry. Taking into accountthe comprehensive scale of tourism economy of central cities and road traiffcconditions. In support of GIS sotfware. Taking14prefecture-level cities as the studyarea of Gansu Province in2005and2009. We use GS+sotfware to analysis the spatialdistribution pattern of accessibility of all cities. And we use spatial variogram toanalysis the intrinsic link between the various regions of accessibility. Use Matlabprogram an ACO algorithm to find the closed loop between each cities. Extract theshortest path base on transportation and DEM factor.With the field strength model and the Huff model to calculate the tourismeconomy of the field strength. And then divide the hinterland of urban tourism, andwith overlay analysis of the city zoning. Identify the type belonging to the city atsame levels.We analysis the distance between14prefecture-level cities or states and eachgrid of Gansu Province by the spatial analysis of vector data. And we calculate thevalue of tourism economic ties. Then we divide the city tourism service scope. Nextwe using linear programming optimization technology to optimize the divided cityservice scope in Arclnfo workstation. In order to identify the best area of city servicescope.The results show that:We find out the decide factors of accessibility which affecting the cities. In orderto provide a scientific basis that can affect government investment and construction oftourism economy. Identifying the dominant constraint mechanism of developingtourism resources. Making tourists do their best choice conveniently. The city tourism service scope after optimization change a lot compared with thedivided city service scope before optimization and the city administrative divisionsbefore optimization. For example, the greatest change in the service scope is Lanzhou.The smallest change in the service scope is Jiuquan. Other cities’ change a littlearound its administrative center. It provide technical and theoretical support forgovernment departments to make tourism planning of city zone divides.The magnitude has changed dramatically among city tourism service scope afteroptimization,before optimization, and the city administrative divisions. Such asLanzhou, the largest change in the city service scope. Jiayuguan with no change. Theother cities’ tourism service scope change based on its administrative center.We hope to increase the tourism income of Gansu Province. Making thereference for the divide of province’s urban tourism economic zones and tourismplanning.
