Empirical Studies On The Impact Of FDI On Industrial Agglomeration Of Northeast China

Industrial Agglomeration is one of hot issues of spatial economics, new competitioneconomics and industrial organization theory in recent years, the process of integration onthe word economy become more and more important in the formation of IndustrialAgglomeration. Sustained and stable development of the national economy since the openingup of China, and with the booming of economic globalization, the scale of FDI growing upday and day, the national economy rely on FDI very much, the advantage of IndustrialAgglomeration has beyond the advantage of low-cost to become an important power toattract foreign investment. The "12th five-year plan" advanced to improve the modernindustrial system, upgrade traditional industries, accelerate the development of strategicemerging industries, optimizing regional spatial distribution of development, promoteindustrial agglomeration development. In our country, Northeast China is known as the"industrial cradle", but also one of earlier areas of introducing the foreign direct investment.The scale of FDI is growing and achieving gratify results after the Central Committeepromulgated the strategy of revitalizing northeast old industrial base in2003. The hugepotential of these advantages is what the southeast coastal developed areas do not have.Based on the international direct investment theory and new economic geography theory,using statistical description method, selection of location entropy, spatial Gini coeffic ientand EG index statistical analysis the degree of the industrial agglomeration of25segmentsof the industry from2003to2011in the northeast; Using quantitative analysis method, putthe FDI factors into the analysis of industrial agglomeration facto rs, selection of industrial2003-2011in northeast area of25small separate industry FDI and agglomeration on indexas the sample data, panel data model, and specific analysis the effect of FDI on the northeastindustrial agglomeration, provide new view of industrial agglomeration theory.Firstly, sort out the FDI and industrial agglomeration theory and related researchachievement; Secondly, introduces the scale of FDI, industry distribution and the sourcedistribution using the northeast area, summarizes the evolution and characteristics of FDI onNortheast china; Again using the three indexes of location entropy, spatial Gini coefficientand EG index statistics of the northeast industry agglomeration status and analyzed, by usingthe panel data model, the sample data from25segments of the industry from2003-2011,the northeast industry in the FDI and industrial agglomeration index for empirical analysis,obtains the FDI and the northeast industrial agglomeration has a positive correlation, but theeffect is not obvious, and the industry difference phenomenon is also exist. At last, putforward some suggestions of utilizing foreign capital in how to promote the development ofindustrial agglomeration better thus promote the development of northeastern regionaleconomy.
