Study On The Relationship Between Informationization And The Economies Of Scale In Road Transportation

As basic industry of the national economy development, the road transportation industryhas the feature of public nature, high-density distribution, social investment, which makes itsignificant economies of scale. However, the road transportation industry has the problems ofirrational market structure, low market concentration, fierce market competition, lacking ofleading-industry enterprise, which restricts economies of scale into full play.In recent years, with the development of China’s information construction, a variety ofadvanced information technology has also been widely used in the field of road transport,which promotes the process of the development of the economies of scale of road transport.Therefore, how to effectively promote economies of scale in road transportation industry,reduce transport costs and improve economic efficiency and service quality of transportation,is clearly the important issues needed in the development of the road transport industry atpresent and in the future.On the basis of the basic theory of and the economies of scale in road transport, thispaper analyzes the relationship of informationization and the economies of scale in roadtransport by the VAR model. And it makes a conclusion that informationization has along-term significant effect of the realization of economies of scale in the road transport. Inthe end, this paper explores the development idea and suggestions of political guarantee so asto informationization better promoting the economies of scale in road transport and achievingdevelopment of the road transport industry.
