| The hi-tech industries are characterized by their high intensity of knowledge andcapital, as with the continuous improvement in technology and science, the arena isbecoming increasingly important in economic and technological competitiveness in theworldwide. Hi-developed hi-tech industries can help to reform the traditional and basicindustries, push their structure optimized and upgrded by industry convergence, radiationand aggregation effects. As early as in1995, our government made decision to emphasizethe development of hi-tech industry by policy and support. At the present, hi-techintdustries in our country have made preliminary results—the gross output and the numberof patents continously increased, and the level of their international competitivenesspromoted. Even though, compared with the developed countries, there is a long way to go.As the hi-tech industries playing such an important role in national economy, espesciallyin our key period of strategic transformation, the research on the internationalcompetitiveness of hi-tech industries can be very important, and then finding the influencefactors that effect the competitiveness level and how they work is also important to thesuggestions on developing the hi-tech industries.This paper sorted out the relevant theory on the international competitiveness ofhi-tech industries and their influence factors, on the theoretical basis, this paper built theframe of influence factors, in which their action mechanisms are discussed. On the otherhand, this paper has analyzed the present situation of hi-tech industries in our country,derived a general evaluating system of the international competitiveness of hi-techindustries. Then this paper used DEA method to get the general competitiveness index todo empirical study on the infuence factors frame. On the basis of all above analysis, thispaper finally put forward some suggestions on the development of hi-tech industries.There are two major breakthroughs in this paper, one is using DEA method toevaluate the competitiveness of the hi-tech industries in China; the other is reframing theinfluence factors research to analyze the mechanism of each acts. Through the analysis,this paper concluded that we should improve the competitiveness of hi-tech industries inour country by improving technology and labor productivity, enlarging the industries’scale, instructing the investment structure of FDI, improving the labours’ quality,deligence in the construction of high-tech zones. |
