In the era of knowledge economy,the core competitive power of R&D organizationscontains more and more technical information,so realizing the information sharing with highefficiency and low cost will be the key for R&D organizations to survive and develop in thisnew competitive environment.As research and development (R&D) is a series of verycomplicated work,development of new technology or new products usually needs lots ofdiversified talents, as well as the knowledge structure. So it is impossible for one singletechnicist fully grasp the whole relevant technology and experience in a R&D project.Weneed a lot of experts of different majors involved,and realizing the completion of this projectthrough active and effective internal communication in this R&D organization. On the otherhand, research and development is a process of self-sufficiency, technical information ofR&D organizations will not be stationary, it is mixed in the process of the production it ismade. So timely communication of their achievements will be essential to foster this processcorrectly.That is to say, continuous research and development will be impossible if there isno communication of achievements. Therefore, this article conducted a deep analysis for theinternal communication network in enterprise R&D teams from the perspective of socialnetwork, in order to improve the efficiency of internal communication and promoteinformation sharing in R&D teams, and also to provide approaches for R&D teamsimproving efficiency and promoting competitiveness.This article first conducted a theoretical exploration on social network analysis methodon the basis of reading related literature both at home and abroad. At the same time,weanalyzed the impact on information communication within organizations from socialnetwork density, structural hole, connection strength, centrality and informal organizations.Secondly, we analyzed each variable which for measuring structure of communicationnetwork from two different research orientations——social-centric network and ego-centricnetwork respectively.Then we divided enterprise R&D team communication network intotwo levels——the advice network based on communication of technical information and thenetwork based on communication of informal organizations and study respectively,and weput forword a modeling method and step of enterprise R&D team communication networkfrom the perspective of social network. Secondly we carried on an empirical analysis, webuilt an enterprise R&D team communication network model by issuing questionnaires toan enterprise R&D center. Next,we conduct a quantitative analysis on the condition ofinformation communication and sharing from the above two levels respectively using Ucinet software and visualization tools.The analysis includes data processing, wholenetwork analysis, ego network analysis and subgroup analysis, which further reveals thestructure of enterprise R&D team communication network model. Finally, we put forward aseries of promotion strategies for R&D team communication network on the basis of theproblems existed in it. This study aims on improving the level of R&D team internalcommunication, so as to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises R&Dteams.
